Monday, Monday

Monday already. Don't seem too motivated today. I read the instructions from my college class for making my blog and it says to discuss any challenges or changes in your life and work. Those of you who know me personally know that my life in the past year or so has been nothing but change. Getting divorced after 34 years, lost home to bankruptcy-due to breakup, been declared disabled, lost my job of 23 years, and started college at Kaplan University for Associates Degree in Science and Health care Information Technology or in other words- Medical billing and coding. The challenge is to stay positive and look forward and not to the past. I plan on using past as a reference of what I have learned and how to see things in a more futuristic view. I remember hearing over and over that God does not give you more than you can handle so I must be one strong old broad. I am super-grannie!!! Everyone have a great week.

Rainy Sunday

Hi All,
Been raining for two days now but hoping for a rainbow. Grandson gone back home with his Mom now. Its amazing to me how fast he has grown, his birthday is in a few weeks and he is already talking about going into the Marines when he gets out of High School. That is four years away but I know that it will fly by. Not sure who he as been listening to but says he wants to go into the military so he can afford to pay for college when he gets out. Although I know it is dangerous I know it will help him grow as a man with disipline and structure. I told him about my Dad and his many years of military experience and how proud of him I always was for his service and so much more.

Spent all day yesterday doing a learning activity for one of my classes. It seems so very funny that at my age I am doing homework. I guess if Grandma Moses could start painting in her 90's I can learn in my mid 50's.

Found a new recipie for a blueberry coffee cake that is good

Day Two

Some of my family emailed me about the name of my blog, confirmed the truth of the title. Grandson is spending the weekend with me so I will show him what I am up to now. Have picked out my subject for my composition ll class and started gathering information for that paper. Have something to share with you all today and I can't remember if I warned you that I sometimes write poems.

Give a Laugh

In every task you undertake
Give a little smile and laugh
Do yourself a blessing and favor
It will cut your stress in half

Laugh your way through good times
Laugh harder in times of the bad
Rejoyce, give thanks when life is easy
Draw wisdom from all expierences had

My friends please listen to me
Find wonder and humor in all
You will find your heart much lighter
And happiness at your beck and call

Have a great day everyone.

Old Gal Writes

OK, here I go with my first blog ever. Bear with me as I learn what to do an how to do it. I am an old gal who used to love to write. That interest got lost in the course of the years but I am about to establish it back into my life. I am sure my fifteen year old grandson is going to fall off his chair laughing when he finds out his old granny is blogging. He should be used to me doing strange things as this blog is being started for my college composition class. Yes I said college, so take that Mr. Matheny (high school guidance counselor) who said I wasn't "college material". Kiddies back in my day that just meant your parents did not have a lot of money so you are not going to college. I hope in this blog to share some of my life experience, humor, and views on what is going on in our times along with whatever topic the college suggest we speak about. I hope younger readers will take from this that it is never too late and you must always follow your heart and try new things even when they seem unattainable or scary. Had a teacher tell me once if you don't fail some you are not trying hard enough. Now on to the new path I have carved for myself, lets make it a fun and exciting journey.
